In April 2022 the government launched the Boiler Upgrade Scheme designed to help cover the cost of upgrading boilers for newer more sustainable environmentally friendly heating systems. The scheme offered £5,000 per household as part of the governments work towards Net Zero- the point at which the UK no longer adds to the total amount of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere – by 2050.

However, with new gas boilers set to be removed from sale in 2023, the government has removed VAT on heat pumps and increased the grant to £7,500 per household as well as making some exception for poorer income properties who would struggle to comply with new heating regulations (BBC).

As a company who have been installing heat pumps in Gloucestershire and the surrounding area for over 10 years, the PBT team have tried and tested different models; we now only install Stiebel Eltron, a German manufacturer who have been working with this technology for over 40 years.

Whilst the UK is fairly new to renewable heat pumps, many other countries have been utilising the technology comfortably for decades in much harsher conditions than the UK offers.

Specialising in only one brand means that our installation team know the heat pumps inside and out and can easily troubleshoot any issues, it also means a great relationship with our suppliers who can help resolve problems or offer additional solutions. No more ringing around at 9pm on a Sunday evening trying to resolve a problem- our team are always on hand as part of the customer service you receive as standard when you work with PBT.

If you are considering making a change and are looking for a highly professional and passionate company to advise you or to install, please contact us to discuss further.
