Why we chose Stiebel Eltron
There are plenty of cheaper heat pumps on the market, and we could sell them. We don’t, because we’ve seen too many budget systems underperform once winter actually arrives — struggling to hit temperature, running inefficiently, or simply not lasting. Stiebel Eltron has been manufacturing heat pumps for over 40 years, engineered for the kind of cold, damp climate the UK and continental Europe both deal with, not adapted from a warm-climate air conditioning unit. That German engineering background shows up in day-to-day performance: consistent output even when it’s well below freezing outside, rather than the system quietly struggling and falling back on immersion heaters.
The Stiebel Eltron range we install
- WPL air source heat pumps — our most commonly installed range, suited to the majority of UK homes, from retrofits to new builds
- WPF ground source heat pumps — for properties with the land or borehole access to take advantage of ground source’s higher, more stable efficiency, particularly larger homes, barns and conversions
Both ranges include cooling-capable models, meaning some properties don’t need separate air conditioning at all — the same system heats in winter and cools in summer. We’ll size and specify the right model for your property during a proper heat loss assessment, rather than defaulting to a one-size-fits-most unit.
