David works in renewables with his own Mechanical Ventilation and Heat Recovery (MVHR) company, so he has worked on other people’s projects, but this is his very first project for himself. He was looking for a complete redesign of his heating system in his existing home whilst exploring new renewable technologies which is why he chose to work alongside PBT.
PBT Installations is MCS approved for heat pump installation and were able to work with the customers existing technology to get the best outcome.
Choosing the Right Heat Pump for the Project
This project was different from any other project PBT have worked on before as this client already had professional knowledge on renewable technologies. David’s requirements differed from the norm in the sense that he wanted to explore the new solutions available and put them together in unfamiliar ways in order to understand the capabilities and what could be achieved.
Our collaboration came to the conclusion that David’s project should have 2 separate heat pumps. One for his heating to work with an Evohome heating system control – space heating, underfloor heating and radiators – that provides a room-by-room control system to optimise operation. Plus, one for the hot water which utilises the MVHR system to use disused air from the house to generate the hot water.
